FAQ

WHAT INSURANCES DOES DR. SUN TAKE?

Dr. Sun Psychiatry, LLC  does *not* participate in Medicare, Medicaid, or other insurances.  However, if requested, a “superbill” can be provided that may be submitted to your insurance for reimbursement. www.reimbursify.com helps patients file “out of network” claims with ease.

DO I NEED TO LIVE IN OKLAHOMA?

Dr. Sun is currently only able to provide telepsychiatric care to patients who are residents of Oklahoma. During the COVID-pandemic, there are some states that have relaxed access to telepsychiatry services across state lines.  If you live in one of these states, Dr. Sun can work with you until emergency orders expire.

HOW SOON CAN I BE SEEN?

At this time, Dr. Sun's wait list is less than a month.  Please contact her as soon as possible, however, as appointments are rapidly filling up.

ARE THERE FINANCING OPTIONS?

Unfortunately, financing options are not available at this time.  Due to being a small private practice, Dr. Sun is requesting payment in full at time of appointment.

HOW CONFIDENTIAL WILL THIS BE?

All visits are HIPPA compliant. Medical records are only released upon your approval. If requested, Dr. Sun can also keep documentation of visits and communication off of electronic health records.    Because this practice is cash-pay, there is no disclosure of your health information to your health care service (aka insurance) plan, unless you choose to release it.   That being said, diagnosis information will be communicated if you use your insurance to pay for your prescription medications.  There are also certain health disclosures required by law in situations of: medical emergencies, child abuse, adult and domestic abuse, imminent harm to self or others, worker's compensation, judicial or administrative proceedings or subpoenas.

WHAT EQUIPMENT OR SET UP DO I NEED FOR A TELEMEDICINE VISIT?

Most patients connect clearly with their smart phone, tablet, or computer.  Stable internet will allow for the best connection. Sometimes, earphones with a microphone can minimize background noise.   The visit will be through a privacy compliant zoom interface embedded into ChARM patient portal.  In order to ensure confidentiality, Dr. Sun asks that the session is done in a private setting (e.g. home, office, parked car) and not a public setting (e.g. supermarket, coffee shop, restaurant). Dr. Sun also asks that patients have access to a blood pressure cuff to assess for blood pressure and heart rate at time of appointment.

DO YOU SEE CHILDREN?

Dr. Sun focuses on treatment of adults over the age of 18 years (or earlier if emancipated).
